As a student looking to benefit from the Government's Student Laptop Scheme, you are required to create a SeyID account. Once created, you can log in to this portal using your SeyID account. After you are logged in, you will be able to submit your application for this scheme. You will then be able to perform the entire process through this portal, including tracking the status of your application. Overview The Student Laptop Scheme is an initiative designed to assist designated student groups in financing the purchase of a laptop computer (or tablet) to support them in their studies. The scheme excludes the purchase of smart phones and desktop computers. The Scheme provides up to three thousand rupees (SCR 3,000.00) contribution towards the purchase price of a device of the student's choice. Eligibility To be eligible, the student must be enrolled in a full-time course or studies in one of the institutions regis-tered with the Ministry of Education or on a specifically designated study programme or institution. A student can benefit under this scheme ONLY ONCE EVERY FIVE (5) YEARS and must purchase the laptop from a local supplier participating in the scheme. (Refer to the Supplier Portal Website https://suppliers.laptopscheme.gov.sc/suppliers for the list of participating suppliers). Important Note Once the student has been issued with a voucher in favour of an authorized supplier, the student will not be able to change the supplier. The initial payment made to the participating supplier for the laptop is also NON-REFUNDABLE. |
